Motherwell College Showcase their Creativity

Creative Showcase 2012 is hailed a Roaring Success.  

More than 250 visitors came to Motherwell College to see the best in Photography, Filmcraft & Animation and Interactive Media, last week. 

Building on the success of previous exhibitions, this year’s event exhibited the work of some of Scotland’s newest up-and-coming talent from across Computing, IT & Creative Arts Department.

For the first time, the event encompassed stunning photography from the College’s renowned Photography as well as first-class animations and montage shots from HNC Filmcraft and Animation, and innovative contemporary digital design from the College’s popular Interactive Media courses. Students, staff, parents and visitors are hailing the event a great success.

Speaking about the Showcase, Matthew Smith, Head of Computing, IT & Creative Arts, said: “The Creative Showcase gives us the opportunity to exhibit the breadth of talent and range of exciting courses we have here at the College.

“We are always conscious to keep up with emerging trends and in particular, the bourgeoning development of the Creative industries in Scotland.

“We wanted to extend the already established and successful Photography Exhibition by encompassing Filmcraft & Animation and Interactive Media to show off the wealth of talent and opportunities available on offer at Motherwell.

“This year’s event was bigger and better and it is particularly gratifying that the event was a great success.  We would like to congratulate all the students for their hard work, without whom this would not have been possible.”
